How Do Ashen Ruins Portals Work in Anime Last Stand
Ashen Ruins portals present a wave-based challenge in ALS, with each portal containing up to 50 waves of enemies. As you progress through the waves, six random buffs and debuffs are presented to you in the form of cards. Click “Roll” to select a random buff or debuff. These can range from cash bonuses such as instantly getting 100,000 Cash or a 5% increased range or damage to debuffs such as +30 Enermy HP, Invasion, or +5 Bosses Spawn. The card selection is entirely random; you cannot choose specific buffs or debuffs or want.

However, there is a risk-reward here, as the more debuffs you get, the more rewards you’ll get by finishing the portal, aka defeating wave 50.
How to Get Ashen Ruin Portals in Anime Last Stand
There are two ways to obtain Ashen Ruins portals:
1. The Halloween Event Shop
The easiest way to get an Ashen Ruins portal is to purchase one from the Halloween Event Shop for 200 Diamonds (premium currency). You can find the Event shop to the left of the Play building.

2. Earning Portals as Drops
Completing an Ashen Ruins portal gives you a chance to receive another portal as a drop. The dropped portal might be of the same tier or even a higher tier than the one you completed. You can also join another player’s Ashen Ruins portal for a chance at a portal drop, although the drop rate is lower for non-hosts.
Anime Last Stand Ashen Ruins Portal Rewards
Completing waves within the portal earns you candy, a currency used for the Halloween Event Shop. The higher the wave you reach, the greater your candy earnings. Completing a portal also awards Pumpkin Essence, which is used for various upgrades.

Additionally, completing portals offers a chance to obtain two new units, Dracula (Alucard) and Shadow (Cid). It’s important to note that the buff/debuff cards only appear for the portal’s host. Other players in the portal will not receive individual buffs or debuffs.
Completing higher-tier portals yields more substantial rewards. Portal tiers range from one to five, with higher tiers providing more candy, Essences, and better chances for rare drops like cards.
