LinkedIn Queens Tips

  • Block Everything Out: As soon as you place a Queen, imagine it “zaps” its whole row, column, and all the squares touching it (yep, diagonals too!). Also, remember that color patch is now done – no more Queens there!
  • Check All the Angles: Before you commit to placing a Queen, quickly ask yourself: Is the row okay? Is the column okay? Is the color patch okay? And is it touching any other Queens? It needs a ‘yes’ to all of those.
  • Spot the Squeezed Spots: Look for rows, columns, or color areas that are already pretty blocked up. Sometimes there’s only one or two places left a Queen could possibly go. That’s often your next move!
  • Use the Color Patches: Sometimes, a whole color area only has squares left in, say, one specific row. That tells you the Queen for that color must also be the Queen for that row. It’s like a two-for-one clue.
  • No Guessing Needed: Seriously, these puzzles are designed so you never have to guess. If you’re stuck, take a breather and look again. There’s always a logical step forward, even if it takes a minute to find it.
