Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has just released a heap of new information regarding launch times, weapon count, upcoming Twitch drops, the Raids update and more.
Early Access pre-loads for Modern Warfare II’s campaign are scheduled to begin on October 19th, 2022, at 10 AM pacific time. The launch of the Full Game is scheduled for October 27th, with exact times determined by regional rollouts. Here’s one in a series of official tweets, which includes a calendar for pre-load and launch details:
With the content divided this way, fans will get the chance to experience the highly anticipated story without waiting for the entire game to roll out. It seems that the devs recognize how much the fans have favored the storytelling in Call of Duty, especially after the previous installment.
It should also allow players a smoother launch, since the multiplayer experience is often overwhelmed for AAA titles like these. It’ll be clearer just how effective the gameplay will actually be, without such distractions. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like some highly requested features will even show up for multiplayer, so jumping into the campaign first could be beneficial for fan response.
Modern Warfare II will provide a surprising volume of weapons at launch, including a variety of assault rifles, sniper rifles, and more:
Once multiplayer finally joins the game, players will be able to play up to 12 different modes. This should be a fair amount of content, and it’s certainly more than competitors in the genre. After all, even Halo Infinite struggled to muster some of the most basic modes on launch. Modern Warfare II will provide a variety of maps across three regions, and Raids are expected to drop on December 14th with Season 1.
There was also news for Twitch drops, which will be available between October 28th, 2022, and November 6th, 2022, celebrating the first week of launch. The blueprint and cosmetics look decent, which is a relief, since Twitch drops are often unsatisfying.
