Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has released patch notes for the newly released Echo of the Blood War expansion. This addition to the game brings the new Auralla playable character, who is a Tiefling warlock that casts spells and does well with controlling crowds of enemies. There’s also two new dungeons to play, so gear up and get ready to face some tough challenges. The expansion can be purchased via Steam for $19.99 USD.

Echo of the Blood War Expansion Patch Notes

The Dark Alliance expansion adds one new playable character and two new challenging dungeons with a total of six levels. Echoes of the Blood War: The Dark Alliance adds to your Dark Alliance experience.

  • Auralla, a Tiefling warlock who specializes in spellcasting and crowd control, is a new playable character.
  • The Abandoned Mines, a new dungeon. Deep in a duergar mine, investigate strange cultist experiments on trolls.
  • Spawn of Yeenoghu is a new dungeon. Stop a group of Gnolls from summoning their demon lord in the Hinterlands.

Updates & Bug Fixes

  • Gnolls will now approach a player character who has the grappled debuff
  • Fixed Goblin Archers not returning to the center of their encounter when the player leaves the area
  • Fixed Keepers of the Shard occasionally using the self-destruct hit-react from Corrupted Cultists
  • Added missing combat barks and character/mission banter lines to the game’s audio
  • Added missing Footstep SFX to the game’s PlayStation 4 version.

Balance

  • Increased Kelvin’s boss health
  • Increased Invincible buff duration after being revived

Localization

  • Fixed missing replies for French map banter when in a party with Wulfgar and Drizzt in The Goblin’s Shard Act 1 Matchmaking and Networking
  • Fixed a rare issue where players were unable to join multiplayer sessions on PlayStation 5
  • Fixed kneeling Frost Giants appearing as standing to some players in multiplayer
  • Fixed player characters remaining stuck in a revive animation when the player and host are teleported during the revive

Stability and performance

  • Fixed a crash on PlayStation 4 in multiplayer when loading into Verbeeg Jamboree Act 1
  • Fixed a crash on all platforms when idling for 15 minutes on the equipment screen
  • Fixed a rare crash that occurred for all players in the boss encounter of The Crystal Wraiths Act 3 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles
  • Reduced the likelihood of rare out-of-memory crashes on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles
  • Fixed an issue where the title would occasionally become unresponsive after losing focus on the Game Wind

User Experience and User Interface

  • Fixed a rare progression blocker after defeating the boss while an Ethereal Ally remains in The Order of the One Light Act 2
  • Fixed a black screen blocking progression after performing certain actions and resting at a Short Rest at the same time
  • Fixed Revives by Short Rests failing to fully replenish health in multiplayer
  • Updated the conditions menu to include more conditions
  • Fixed Icewind’s name UI persisting on the HUD upon returning to Kelvin’s Cairn after the boss fight on PlayStation 4
  • Fixed game menus shifting to the right by 3 and highlighting all the panels in between after using LB + RB in the game menu

  • Fixed the effect of the Verbeeg Trap ability being delayed if the user is aiming when they walk through it

    Conditions
  • Conditions no longer deal damage multiple times per second depending on the number of players in the session after enemies are afflicted in multiplayer

  • Charmed enemies now deal Friendly Fire damage Death, Revive, and Force Respawn are now possible.

  • Fixed player characters respawning where they were before a tether after falling into the death plane.
  • Kessel’s headlights were fixed, despite the fact that he was still a Total Party Down in The Order of the One Light Act 3 Merchant.
  • When unlocking new Useables while the Persuasive feat is unlocked, the full gold price is now paid.
  • Wulfgar’s backwards evade animation no longer pops after dodging to the sides has been fixed.
    Progression
  • Improvements to the Trials of Tempus Tutorial: Removed a progression blocker that prevented the objective ‘Eliminate the cultists to stop their sacrifices ritual’ from being completed in Crystalline Dreams Act 2 Tutorial.
    o During the Trials of Tempus Tutorial, Wulfgar’s Cross-check heavy attack now counts as a heavy attack o The Perform a 4-hit combo objective now counts all combos
    o Performing a jump attack during the Trials of Tempus Tutorial now counts as a jump. o Jumps performed in rapid succession now count as jumps during the Trials of Tempus Tutorial.
    o Fixed unlockable Fierce Attacks not counting in the Trials of Tempus Tutorial VFX o Catti-backwards brie’s dash now counts toward the “Perform a Dash” objective in the Trials of Tempus Tutorial
  • Fixed the icicle VFX for Frost Giant attacks displaying incorrectly on Xbox One
  • Fixed the Duergar Bomb damage and VFX sometimes being out of sync
  • Fixed the secondary VFX explosion and damage area on the Frost Giant’s Grind Swipe attack being out of sync
