Dead by Daylight has just released an extensive new dev update, detailing major upcoming changes for the next update. This included Red Forest visual updates with preview images, better map rotations, and other improvements for quality of life. Here’s the big announcement from Dead by Daylight’s official Twitter feed:
Map Repeat Prevention is arguably the highlight of today’s dev update. It’s a major improvement that’s been requested for a while.
For smaller games that don’t have a lot of modes, and instead rely on improving a single kind of gameplay, redundancy can sometimes become a serious issue. That’s especially true for multiplayer games, and Dead by Daylight has been around for a while.
If the new prevention feature can actually run as smoothly as players would hope, it will cover a variety of angles to ensure the same map isn’t placed twice. This even extends to other players in your trial, so that none of their most recent maps will come up either. So, groups that love playing together won’t have to worry about the party disrupting the feature.
The devs are clearly investing in all of the right places to support their multiplayer core. Not only is the anti-cheat team expanding, they’re also going to improve Bots. That’s a fairly recent update to the game, and really helped fill out parties.
Sometimes, players aren’t able to get everyone together, and Bots are also a terrific way for newcomers to practice. Otherwise, new players who were intrigued by the latest IP collaboration will be smothered by longtime fans and experts.
The official blog post released today added that players will be able to try out “most” of these changes during a Public Test Build next week.
