Eresys, an online/offline horror game inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, is now available in Early Access, promising an immersive and spine-chilling gaming experience. The game, which emphasizes teamwork, allows players to form a party of four, taking on the roles of cultists and facing horrifying Lovecraftian entities together.
The developers have shared an update on upcoming content, which includes an additional main entity with unique mechanics tied to game progression, as well as smaller entities with distinct characteristics that will appear in specific areas. Each unique enemy will have its own individual jumpscare event, heightening the game’s atmosphere.
Swamps pose a particular danger, and players are advised to keep teammates close by when crossing these areas. Eresys features a navigation system designed to help teammates stay together, and certain events and puzzles will provide hints about the location of nearby shrines and altars.
In Eresys, players must work as a team to close a Void Portal opened by a deranged former cult member on a secluded island. This portal has unleashed terrifying creatures that have claimed the lives of many, and it is up to the players to send them back and seal the portal before it wreaks further havoc. Players will have to locate and gather resources, make offerings at altars, and perform the final ritual before the entities overrun the island and bring their terror to the world beyond.
Eresys boasts an immersive environment, with intricate visuals showcasing monsters and characters. Players will face smart AI mechanics, as the entities are not ordinary monsters but calculating beings that respond to players’ choices and actions. Unexpected events can be triggered by any item linked to the occult, keeping players on their toes.
Players can find temporary safety in houses and buildings, where they can locate hidden lootable items and resources needed to complete the final ritual. Caves may offer brief respite and additional resources, but they may also hide sinister surprises.
The game includes a powerful tome, the book of the order, which can banish the ancient entity once it is complete. Players must gather missing pages and decide who will carry the book. Enchanted victims and other resources can be found around the island, and players must collect their blood in vials.
In Eresys, oil lamps can be used to keep the ancient entities at bay, as they are not familiar with the light. Players must ensure at least two lamps are lit and stick together to maintain distance from the enemies. Altars, manifestations from the necroworld, can be offered blood in exchange for blood spheres.
