Bethesda Game Studios shared news about upcoming updates for Fallout 4. The free update will launch on April 25th, 2024, and bring substantial improvements for next-generation consoles and additional content for all platforms. Bethesda is rolling out the stops, and it’s an incredible amount of content for a game that feels so very old.
Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players can expect a major update. This update brings native versions of Fallout 4 to these consoles, allowing players to choose between Performance and Quality modes. Performance mode aims for smooth gameplay at up to 60 frames per second, while Quality mode focuses on improving visuals and resolutions. Both next-gen versions promise better stability and various bug fixes. So, if you have Game Pass, it’s time to try out Fallout 4.
PC gamers are getting a big update. It includes support for widescreen and ultra widescreen on certain monitors, making the game more immersive. There are also some fixes for the Creation Kit modding tool and various quest-related issues. Bethesda has also solved some login problems for Japanese and Chinese-language PC players on the Bethesda.net platform, so they can now access mods without any issues.
Owners of the game on older consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4) will also receive improvements in the update. Players on these platforms can look forward to better stability and fixes to login functions and quest-related bugs that could affect gameplay.
The latest update brings a wealth of new Creation Club content for free. This includes the “Enclave Remnants” pack, which adds a new questline focused on the popular Enclave faction. This is the faction that you fought against in Fallout 2. This pack includes:
- Enclave Weapon Skins
- Enclave Armor Skins
- Tesla Cannon
- Hellfire Power Armor
- X-02 Power Armor
- Heavy Incinerator
The update also introduces the Makeshift Weapons Pack and the Halloween Workshop, both available free of charge. I am blown away by how much is coming. I will definitely be one of the people returning to Fallout 4 for the update.
