Square Enix has announced the release of Update 1.03 for its 2023 action role-playing game, Final Fantasy XVI, bringing several improvements to the gaming experience. This update addresses some existing issues and introduces new functionalities that further refine gameplay.
In this update, an array of additions has been made to the System tab of the Main Menu. One of these is the Motion Blur Strength adjustment that lets players control the intensity of the motion blur effect when the character or camera moves. The default setting is set to its maximum, at five, which can be decreased for a less intense motion blur effect, or even turned off entirely for those who prefer a clearer view of their in-game actions.
The update also introduces new camera settings: Player Follow (Movement) and Player Follow (Attack). When turned off, these prevent the camera from auto-tracking the player’s movements and attacks, giving players more control over the camera’s positioning during gameplay. Additionally, the Camera Sensitivity options, both Horizontal and Vertical, have seen their maximum settings raised from 10 to 20, providing a broader range of sensitivity options for players.
Beyond adjustments to visuals and controls, Update 1.03 introduces three new controller layouts — types D, E, and F. These add more ways for players to customize their gameplay experience to their liking, expanding on the already existing options.
A series of fixes has also been implemented, addressing a previous issue impacting the stability of some menus and correcting some text issues to improve the overall gaming experience.
As a nod to the game’s online community, the update also introduces the hashtag #FF16. This will automatically be included when players share screenshots or video clips from the game on platforms such as Twitter or YouTube, fostering an active online community around the game.
This update is now available, and it’s recommended for players to apply this update before their next gaming session to benefit from these enhancements and improvements.
