Steel Wool Studios has officially announced the release date of the much-awaited, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2. Set to launch on December 14, 2023, for PlayStation VR2, this sequel to the 2019 FNAF VR game invites players to experience the world of the beloved horror franchise in an entirely new way. Accompanying the announcement is a brand-new trailer, offering a sneak peek into the fresh horror VR adventure that awaits.
Ray McCaffrey, Executive Producer at Steel Wool Studios, delves into the comprehensive gameplay features of Help Wanted 2 in a recent post on PlayStation Blog. McCaffrey details how the game builds upon its predecessor and highlights the use of unique PS VR2 features. According to him, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 is designed to captivate players, drawing them in repeatedly with its dynamic gameplay.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 introduces six categories of minigames, including Backstage, Fazcade, Staff Only, Food Prep, Ticket Booth, and a special category containing the new VR versions of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location gameplay. In the Backstage minigame, players will get up close and personal with Roxanne Wolf in the Pizzaplex Salon as they glam her up and make sure her look is perfect every single time.
Fazcade offers classic games like Bonk-a-Bon and Fazerblast, challenging players’ precision and reflexes for high scores. The Staff Only minigame presents a unique challenge as players must administer basic first aid to guests, delicately sawing off limbs to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
The Food Prep minigame unfolds behind the counter at El Chips, where players face the dinner rush, striving to keep up with the near-endless combinations of possible orders to get the federally mandated amount of value preparing food in the Pizzaplex. Meanwhile, the Ticket Booth minigame category takes players to a lighthearted log ride on Captain Foxy’s Cowboy Adventure, as they float through the old West as a gunslinger in search of booty. Finally, the remarkable Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location has received a VR version in Help Wanted 2, allowing fans to experience this entry in the franchise in custom VR gameplay.
Taking full advantage of the PS VR2’s controller haptics, 3D audio, and other advanced features, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 is expected to offer a more engaging horror experience. The game also leverages PS VR2’s eye-tracking system for a minigame built exclusively for the PlayStation 5, where players will have their minds read by the fortune teller Mystic Hippo.
