In the final sprint before Season 2 of Chapter 4 comes to a close, Fortnite is maximizing players’ opportunities to accumulate XP and level up. The game’s developers have unveiled a new series of in-game Quests known as Spending Spree Quests, which will remain open until 2:00 AM ET on June 9, 2023.

The Spending Spree Quests, which went live yesterday, incorporate various tasks involving the use of Bars, the game’s in-game currency. Quests range from damaging players with weapons purchased using Bars, to spending Bars at vending machines and upgrading weapons to Legendary status at an upgrade bench. Moreover, there are quests requiring players to spend a specific amount of Bars, starting from 500 and reaching up to 5,000.

Fortnite developers activated a hotfix today, reducing Gold Bar costs for a variety of purchases within the game. This update, which directly benefits Spending Spree Quest participants, cuts the costs of exotic weapons, certain services, and weapon upgrades in half.

Exotic weapons, such as the Chug Cannon, Heisted Accelerant Shotgun, Run ‘n’ Gun SMG, and Dragon Breath Sniper, are now available for 300, 400, and 250 Bars, down from their previous costs of 600, 800, and 500 Bars respectively.

The hotfix also brings down the bar cost for weapon upgrades at an upgrade bench. The new bar costs for upgrading weapons are 50 Bars for common to uncommon, 125 Bars for uncommon to rare, 187 Bars for rare to epic, and 250 Bars for epic to legendary.

The discount extends to a few in-game services as well, slashing the bar costs in half for hiring a normal NPC, revealing the future storm circle, obtaining a prop disguise, and accessing the rift service. However, it should be noted that the hotfix does not affect the costs for hiring specialist NPCs; Heavy & Supply NPCs still cost 200 Bars and Medic & Scout NPCs remain at 250 Bars.
