Forza Horizon 5 is the latest entry into the popular racing franchise that has you driving around a variety of different tracks as fast as you can. This game is particularly fun when you join up with some pals, and see who can make it across the finish line first. You would think this would be fairly straight-forward, but it can be a difficult task for those who are new to the franchise. If you’re having trouble, we’ll show you exactly what you need to do in this guide.
How to join friends session
To join a friend’s session in Forza Horizon 5, you will first need to invite or have your friend invite you to be in their Convoy. This is only available after you’ve completed a few of the early missions in the game, so make sure to race a few times until you see the ability to get online added to your game.
Once you’re ready, you will need to complete the following steps to add someone to your Convoy:
- Hit the pause button to open up the main menu
- Switch to the Online Tab
- Select the Convoy option
- Manage Convoy by pressing the button listed in the bottom area
- Select the friend you’d like to invite to your game
- Send them an invitation
- Once they accept your invitation they should be in your Convoy
If you are in a PC, you will need to hit the Window Key + G to open up the social area and accept the invitation. On consoles, you should see a pop up where you need to press the PlayStation or Xbox button to accept the invite.
Now that you are in your friend’s Convoy or they are in yours, the player who is the leader will now need to start a race or event of some kind. Once the race has finished, you should be in the leader’s session. If you get disconnected, you will likely receive an alert that you can reconnect to their game.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any friends playing at the moment, you can head to the Online menu and go to the Friends / Players option. This will list players that are already in your session that you can join a Convoy with!
