After spending close to three years in Early Access, Ruinarch has finally reached its full release on Steam, offering players a unique blend of mischief, storytelling, and outright destruction. The 1.0 launch introduces new monsters, faction ideologies, villager actions, achievements, controller support, visual modding support, and performance optimization, all based on player feedback from the community.

Players in Ruinarch can choose from three distinct overlord Archetypes to match their evil inclinations, whether they prefer the disease-spreading Lich, the manipulative Puppetmaster, or the destructive Ravager. Mixing and matching spells to create the most devastating combination is the key to victory, as the game presents numerous ways to wreak havoc on procedurally generated fantasy worlds.

Ruinarch’s open-ended gameplay allows for a multitude of dastardly activities, from creatively combining spells to form new types of chaos, to spreading gossip and starting demon cults. Players can even turn villagers into vampires or werewolves, plunge a village into a zombie apocalypse, and more.

Inspired by story generator games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, Ruinarch places a strong emphasis on creating both humorous and tragic narratives. Experimentation is highly encouraged, allowing players to combine elemental interactions for personalized destructive results. By interacting with the world and generating Chaotic Energy, players can upgrade their Portal to gain new powers and eventually summon themselves into the game world to secure victory.

The game also offers the ability to afflict villagers with various flaws, creating compelling situations and conflicts. Players can spawn monsters to kidnap and harass villagers, spread malicious information, and even develop plague-spreading rats. Villagers can be imprisoned and tortured to afflict them with random flaws or brainwashed into secret cultists who will aid the player in their nefarious schemes.

Ruinarch offers a devilishly entertaining experience as players take on the role of the villain in a darkly twisted sandbox world. The game is now available on Steam, allowing players to unleash their inner evil and create chaos in a world of their own making.
