In the latest turn of events for the gaming industry, Silksong, the much-anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight, has been postponed. Originally set to be released in the first half of 2023, the release date has been pushed back. Matthew Griffin, responsible for the game’s marketing and publication, made the announcement, leaving fans in anticipation but without a definitive timeline for its arrival.

Griffin took to Twitter to make the official announcement. He expressed, “We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.” He further assured fans to expect more details as the release date approaches.

Silksong is set to allow players to take on the role of Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she embarks on a dangerous journey through a kingdom ruled by silk and song. Thrust into this alien world, Hornet will have to fend off enemies and unravel enigmas as she ascends on a lethal pilgrimage to the peak of the kingdom.

Serving as an epic follow-up to Hollow Knight, Silksong promises to carry the legacy of its award-winning predecessor. Players will venture into uncharted territories, gain new powers, confront an array of bugs and beasts, and unearth ancient secrets linked to their character’s nature and history.

The game features an expansive new kingdom to explore, filled with coral forests, mossy grottos, gilded cities, and misted moors, all leading up to the shining citadel at the world’s summit. Players can look forward to engaging in lethal acrobatic action, utilizing a fresh suite of deadly moves in beautifully dangerous combat scenarios.

To enhance the gameplay, Silksong will also introduce powerful tools for players to craft, expanding their arsenal of weapons, traps, and mechanisms. These will aid in not only battling enemies but also in reaching new heights within the game.

Players can also expect to undertake shocking quests, hunting down elusive beasts, solving age-old mysteries, and seeking out lost treasures. These activities are designed to fulfill the wishes of the oppressed and restore hope within the kingdom.

One of the most notable features of Silksong is the inclusion of over 150 new adversaries, ranging from beasts and hunters to assassins and kings. These foes will undoubtedly test players’ bravery and skill. Following the successful conquering of the kingdom, players can also challenge the Silk Soul mode, which promises a unique, challenging experience that spins the game into a new realm.

Despite the disappointment surrounding the delay, the commitment to perfecting Silksong is clear. Gamers can only hope that the wait will be worth it, leading to an even more refined and engaging gaming experience.
