Boundary is an upcoming multiplayer tactical space-based shooter game developed by Studio Surgical Scalpels and published by Skystone Games and Huya Games. As heavily armed astronauts known as Astroperators, players will engage in intense team-versus-team zero-gravity firefights and execute low-gravity operations on orbiting space installations against enemy Astroperators and other entities.
Recently, it was announced that Boundary is finally set to launch in Steam Early Access on April 13th. The game will be available in three different editions. The Standard Edition costs $24.99, while the Founder’s Packs are priced at $34.99 for the Deluxe Supporter Edition and $44.99 for the Ultimate Supporter Edition. Both of these Founder’s Packs will include limited-edition cosmetics and bonuses, although the specifics have not yet been revealed.
Using the EMU suit, players will be able to navigate the harsh atmosphere of space and orbiting installations to engage enemy Astroperators in a 3-dimensional battlefield. This type of astronaut warfare is more comparable to a dogfight, in which factors such as position and angle of attack may have a major impact.
As for cosmetics, players may personalize their Boundary space suit and their arsenal of modified weaponry. In addition, players may modify and enhance their primary weapon using a variety of stocks, grips, scopes, barrels, and ammo types to match their play style and create a weapon and class look that is unique to them.
Boundary draws a significant amount of inspiration from real industrial technology and space exploration. As such, it offers a diverse selection of multiplayer maps, some examples of which are a wreck-strewn debris field and a Solar Farm, among others. These maps provide Astroperators with a variety of battle scenarios that are each unique and challenging in their own way.
The space battlefield is certainly Boundary‘s defining feature, but the game’s weapon customization functionality, which gives players the freedom to fully customize their arsenals to better suit their playstyle, is also one of the game’s enticing aspects.
Boundary is only set for an Early Access launch, so some features are still subject to change in the full release.
