This exciting announcement is accompanied by a brand-new trailer, offering a glimpse into the world of The Cub and its gameplay.
Developed by Demogog Studio, the creators of the Golf Club Nostalgia platformer, The Cub immerses players in a visually stunning neon-lit apocalypse. Drawing inspiration from classic SEGA games of the 90s such as The Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Lion King, Demogog Studio delivers The Cub with a blend of nostalgia and modern elements.
Set decades after the ultra-rich fled to Mars, leaving Earth to perish in the aftermath of the Great Ecological Catastrophe, the story of The Cub unfolds as they return to recon. When the ultra-rich spotted a small human child, The Cub, who developed immunity to the hostile planet remains, they immediately tried to capture it.
As The Cub players will embark on a journey of escape, exploration, and discovery through the remnants of humanity, blending parkour skills with a captivating soundtrack of catchy end-of-day tunes and survivor stories broadcast on the radio. Throughout the game, players will solve environmental puzzles and piece together clues to unravel the mysteries surrounding humanity’s downfall.
Beyond its engaging gameplay, The Cub boasts meticulously crafted visuals reminiscent of classic animated films from the late 90s, such as Atlantis, Tarzan, and Road to El Dorado. The game’s narrative introduces thought-provoking concepts, enhancing the overall immersive experience.
