Riot Games‘ hit free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter, Valorant, has received its latest 6.08 update, which introduces various changes to Agents Gekko and Killjoy. Valorant Patch 6.08 also includes several cosmetics, maps, and gameplay system updates.

As the most recently released Valorant Agent, Gekko continues to receive new updates since Riot Games strives to provide a well-rounded gaming experience for all players. However, in the latest Valorant patch 6.08, not much has been changed to Gekko’s abilities. Instead, only minor audio adjustments to Wingman’s (Q) plant and defuse sounds have been made, in addition to an updated Gekko in-game portrait.

Contrary to Gekko, it appears that the Agent balancing update done for Valorant Patch 6.08 focused mainly on Killjoy’s abilities. According to Riot Games, developers have determined a few areas where they may enhance the ways in which Killjoy’s abilities interact with both other players and the environment.

Some of Killjoy’s audio cues have been tweaked in Valorant Patch 6.08 to make them more distinct and clearer when her utility has been destroyed. Furthermore, the reveal radius on Nanoswarm (C) has been increased to better match its area of damage and make it more realistic for enemies that are moving methodically to track them down. Finally, the yellow warning indicator that was added to Lockdown (X) in the previous patch has been removed, since it was too loud on screen throughout the duration of her ultimate winding up.

The following are some other notable changes and fixes made as part of Patch 6.08, as revealed on the official Valorant website:

  • Brimstone’s Sky Smoke (E), Orbital Strike (X), and Omen’s From the Shadows (X) ability have updated targeting visuals to help players with precision placement on the map.

Cosmetics Updates

  • Players who own any of the following will notice some art updates:
    • Default Shorty
    • Wunderkind Shorty
    • Sidekick Shorty
    • Karabasan Shorty
    • Prism II Shorty
    • Doodle Buds Shorty
