A few days ago, Riot Games unveiled the latest Dev Diary for Valorant, shedding light on upcoming updates scheduled throughout the rest of the year. One of the notable updates mentioned is the new progression system, which intends to provide players with a more rewarding gameplay experience.
Just recently, Riot Games offered further insights into what players can expect from the new progression system. One of the highlights of this update is the revamped daily rewards structure. Players will now be generously rewarded for their time spent in various game modes such as Escalation, Premier, Competitive, Unrated, and Team Deathmatch. Daily rewards will now grant both XP and Kingdom Credits, a new, free currency that can be used to unlock a variety of free items.
With the new progression system in Valorant, Agent Contracts are now an Agent Recruitment event. This feature ensures that players will never forget to activate a new Agent Contract again. These free event passes will automatically activate on the same day a new Agent is released. It will stay active for a few weeks, starting with the next Agent.
Progression towards unlocking the Agent will be made automatically through regular gameplay, though impatient players will have the option to expedite the process by using VP to unlock the Agent immediately. Alongside earning Agent Recruitment progress and XP, players will also simultaneously accumulate Kingdom Credits. Those who missed the Recruitment event can still unlock the Agent in the Agent store using stored-up Kingdom Credits.
The new progression system will also introduce a new way to get Agent Gear or items in the Agent Contracts. Players will now have the option to purchase Agent Gear and Accessories directly with Credits through this update. Furthermore, the new progression system will allow players to spend their Kingdom Credits in the Accessory Store to acquire past battle pass Accessories. These Accessories refresh every week and there will be a maximum amount of Credits that players can accumulate.
Valorant players can look forward to the release of the new progression system later this month, as part of the launch of Episode 7.
