Warhammer: Vermintide 2, the long-running melee action game from developer and publisher Fatshark, has just released an official trailer for the free “Tower of Treachery” update.
The DLC will be available on March 28th, 2023, for PC users. Featuring the Ubersreik Five and the villainous Sofia, it will continue the story of A Treacherous Adventure, the successful DLC that released in November 2022. Here’s the full trailer for the new update from Fatshark’s YouTube channel:
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 may have launched years ago, but its loyal fanbase and consistently rewarding DLCs have kept the game going strong.
Today’s trailer looks every bit as chaotic and satisfying as previous updates, with a more claustrophobic environment and an emphasis on traps.
A lot of the smaller details in the upcoming setting really set an immersive and overbearing tone. This should improve the sense that you’re breaking through and climbing forward. It’ll be a challenge for the game to make the most of its environment without becoming too redundant, but the released footage looks encouraging so far.
Warhammer remains one of the most potent fantasy franchises in the industry, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has always boasted some of the purest action.
So, the narrative has always been a little straightforward. But it’s creative enough to fuel some very intriguing stages. The level design is still expanding into new territory, which is definitely worth exploring with cooperative gameplay. The new DLC promises more of a cluttered coop experience, so it will probably take a little less strategy and a lot more communication to progress.
The new blog post on the game’s Steam page tease that players will face the “toughest foe…so far!”, hinting that even more DLC should be in the works.
