Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a bit different than your typical Pokemon game, which means there’s quite a few new things for you to experience. You will be heavily focused on completing tasks, catching Pokemon, and exploring the open world. To complete all of these tasks, you will end up with a whole lot of extra Pokemon which will be enjoying life in the pasture. With no possibility of breeding in this game, the question ends up being, what do you do with them all? Well, we’ll tell you what you can do with them in this guide!
Pasture Pokemon
The main thing you can do with extra Pokemon is to release them back into the wild. The reason to do this is because each time you do, there’s a chance you will obtain a Grit item. These are things like Grit Dust, Gravel, Pebble, and Rock. The items are used to upgrade your Pokemon’s Effort Levels, which will increase their base stats and make them more powerful.
The Pasture is located in Jubilife Village across the bridge from where you teleport in after you’ve left an expedition. Talk to Marie who will give you access to the Pokemon in your Pasture.
Once you’ve opened up the Pastures menu, you will then find all of the boxes that you have filled up with Pokemon. From here, you can then select a Pokemon and release them back into the wild.
The big question a lot of players seem to have is how do you release multiple Pokemon. This ability is unlocked after you fill up FOUR pasture boxes. So, keep collecting Pokemon until you fill up enough boxes, and when you return to Marie she will alert you that you now have the ability to release many Pokemon at a time.
To use this feature, just hit the X button and select all the Pokemon you want to lose. Once you’ve selected them all, just hit X again to release the Pokemon.
After you’ve released your various Pokemon, you will be visited by an NPC who will tell you that some of the Pokemon left things behind for you. This is when you’ll receive the various Grit items that you can use to power up your Pokemon.
There really isn’t a whole lot of use for all of your extra Pokemon at the moment. You can pretty much make any Pokemon you are using into a powerhouse by upgrading their Effort Levels. There’s no breeding, and trading isn’t particularly worthwhile.
We hope you now have a good idea what to do with all of those extra Pokemon! We’ve got a bunch more content on the game in the Pokemon Legends: Arceus section of our website.
