Thank you – I figured out the answer but had no idea what it meant!
The answer was deliberately more difficult because it required a different sort of thinking than traditionally. I wonder if the new Sunday mini is intended to be more difficult than on weekdays.
It’s the last letters of the first words and the first letters of the last words:
Lime, lemon, orange
Thank you!!
Exactly Becca
FRUIT as the answer to this clue makes no sense to me
Because li me, le mon, and o range. Took me some minutes.
You smart
I’ve been poring over this clue, and I have no idea how “fruit” is the answer. It definitely is the answer, according to the puzzle, but how does it work?
How does that make any sense at all?!
I don’t get this clue and answer.
I don’t get it either
I don’t see an actual explanation in this article—I can’t see at all how “fruit” is the answer to this.
I dont get it, how is fruit in between radio range, deli meat or little monster
This is the dumbest crossword clue ever. In the words provided there are different fruit: de(li me)at, litt(le mon)ster, radi(o range). I only got this answer by answering the clues around it and even then it took me forever to understand what it meant.
I believe it’s because between the words deli and meat you find the word lime, little monster you find lemon and radio range is orange.
I figured it out. The words “lime”, “lemon”, and “orange” span each of those pars of words. It took me a while to see it.
I am also stumped.
I found the explanation on Reddit: DeLI MEat, littLE MONster, radiO RANGE
It’s so silly…check out the last few letters of the first word and the first few letters of the second word. “DeLI MEat” “littLE MONster” “ radiO RANGE”. Names of fruit is hidden between these words.
I don’t get it either, Andyp.
“deLI MEat,” “littLE MONster” and “radiO RANGE”
Lime – lemon – orange = fruit
I don’t get it either. Could someone explain, please?
Li-me, le-mon and o-range
using the letters you can see o range, li me, and le mon.
I didn’t get it either. solved other words to figure it out.
Oh, i get it now
radio range = radi “orange”
deli meat = de “lime” at
Little monster = litt “lemon” ster
Hence, fruit. I didn’t get it till I read your comment
radiO RANGE, deLI MEat, littLE MONster
I am also struggling to understand how you can read this clue and come up with fruit. I found a children’s book called The Little Fruit Monster but that is all I can see.
