How to get Subterrier in Core Keeper

To get the Subterrier, you will need to get a Loyal Egg by looking for digging spots throughout the world, like Beach Sand, Desert Sand, and Grass Digging Spots. Per the Wiki, you have between a 4% and 7% chance of obtaining a Loyal Egg at a given digging spot, which can then be placed into the Incubator to transform into a Cracked Loyal Egg, which will give you the Subterrier companion. The Loyal Egg is described as a “mysterious, pointy-eared egg.”

The Subterrier is a “canine companion that is out to smite your enemies, endlessly lick his paws and, in general, just be a good pal!” It is modeled after real-life dogs and as one might expect, it will trot after you while you battle and will use its jaws to defend you against enemies. By having this companion with you during battle, you’ll have a chance to stun enemies.

Remember, in order to hatch any of the eggs found in the world, you will need to craft the copper workbench (you can do so at the wood workbench), which was added in this update, so you can then craft the incubator. You will need to be patient before your egg will hatch in your incubator!

As you level up your pet–by taking them into combat with you or by giving it pet candy–you’ll be able to get different perks for your pet. You can roll for different perks or a different combination of perks to get the most out of your companion.
