LinkedIn Patches is a satisfying visual logic puzzle where you must fill the entire grid with shapes. Each outlined region needs to be completely filled by a single shape—either a square, a tall rectangle, or a wide rectangle, depending on the clue. Pay close attention to any numbers within a region, as they dictate the exact size (number of cells) the shape must be. If you find yourself with a tricky layout or just want to check your answer, the complete solution for today’s puzzle is provided below.

Patches Tips
- Start with the Numbers: The most powerful clues are the numbered regions. A region with a ‘4’ in it must be exactly four cells (either a 2×2 square, a 1×4 rectangle, or a 4×1 rectangle). Solve these definite-sized shapes first to create a foundation.
- Mind the Shape Constraints: Look at the clue for the region (Square, Tall rectangle, Wide rectangle). This severely limits your options. For example, a 6-cell region marked “Tall” can only be 2×3 or 1×6, not 3×2 or 6×1. An area marked “Square” can only be a 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, etc.
- Analyze the Region’s Outline: The physical shape of the outlined region is a huge hint. A long, skinny region can’t contain a large square. An L-shaped 4-cell region can’t be a 2×2 square or a 1×4 rectangle, which helps you deduce the shapes around it.
- Use the Edges and Corners: It’s often easier to determine how a shape must fit when it’s pushed up against the border of the main grid. Placing these edge pieces can create clear boundaries that make it easier to solve the more central, ambiguous regions.
- Don’t Force It; Move On: If you’re unsure how a specific region should be filled, leave it. Solve another, more obvious part of the puzzle. Placing a new shape correctly will often reveal the only possible way to fill in the area you were stuck on.
