Roblox BedWars has rolled out its much-anticipated Traveling Merchant update. The update introduces a new game mechanic, the Traveling Merchant, who sets up shop nine minutes into every match. This merchant brings with him three random items for sale, including potential powerful team buffs and an exclusive weapon called the Headhunter. However, players should note that the merchant will not appear in ranked matches.
The Headhunter, a legendary weapon, is designed for expert hunters. This weapon offers unmatched precision and deadly force, with headshots delivering massive damage. This exclusive weapon is sure to raise the stakes in every match where the Traveling Merchant appears.
In addition to the Traveling Merchant, the update introduces the 30v30 Base Protection mechanic. Players standing on their team’s generator in 30v30 matches will receive 50% damage and knockback reduction. However, this effect will cease once their bed is broken.
Another highlight of the update is the free Kits of the Week. Players can now access the Metal Detector, Davey, Axolotl Amy, and Gompy (Lv. 20) kits free of charge.
Balance changes are also a part of this update. These include alterations to items such as the Wood Crossbow, Zipline, and Fireball, which have all seen reductions in either damage or cost. The Diamond Guardian and Base Ores mechanics have also been nerfed, slowing down the diamond and emerald yields as match time scales. However, Life Steal has seen a buff with increased healing from damage percentage across all tiers.
Changes to kits have also been implemented, affecting the Warrior, Melody, Zeno (Wizard), Whisper, Drill, Farmer Cletus, and Zenith kits. The most notable change is for the Drill kit, where the owner will now only receive half the resources from the drill, with the other half stored in the drill for team members or enemies to access.
Lastly, mobile users can expect changes to their gameplay, with the addition of a joystick button for aiming projectiles and breaking blocks, and a setting to remove these buttons. The default death animation has been fixed, the respawn view camera position has been altered, and knockback has been reduced. The update also introduces a new command, /setknockback, to set the knockback value, with the default set at 1. Moreover, the /shopitem command has been extended to work for kit items, providing players with more flexibility in their gameplay.
