Saga of Sins, an upcoming action platformer featuring a stained-glass world and demonic creatures, has just revealed that it will launch on March 30th, 2023.
Developed by Bonus Level Entertainment, it will be available on PC, Steam Deck, last and current gen PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch. A demo is available now on Steam. Here’s the full release date trailer from publisher Just for Games:
The seven sins have been used for plenty of entertainment, from Se7en to Shazam!, but their adaptation in Saga of Sins is very creative and definitely justifies their presence.
The art design in Saga of Sins is clearly a highlight, and it’s a wonder that this approach hasn’t been used more. Candle Knight resembles this promising platformer a bit, but it was recently delayed until Spring 2023.
Saga of Sins looks colorful and vibrant, while maintaining a sense of shadowy danger and even horror. Today’s trailer shows off some interesting platforming obstacles, and an inventive protagonist. Besides an outstanding hook, the player’s ability to transform into compelling creatures is a fun idea that’ll improve replay value.
It’s clear that Saga of Sins will distinguish itself from various other platformers. It boasts the mechanics and storytelling intrigue of modern games, alongside the feel of classic arcade adventures. Where some indies would struggle with that balance, Saga of Sins has the potential to satisfy fans of both.
It also happens to be one of the more ambitious and edgy games from publisher Just For Games, who are known for Kids Vs Parents and Family Fun Night. Similarly, developer Bonus Level Entertainment has only made FOX n FORESTS, a friendly 16-bit RPG. If Saga of Sins succeeds, it’d be very interesting to see if these teams expand in other new directions.
