Serial Cleaners, the top-down action and stealth indie from developer Draw Distance and publisher 505 Games, will officially release new “Dino Park” DLC next week on May 9th, 2023. Instead of cleaning up crimes for the mob in New York, players will be cleaning up crime scenes on a “mysterious island” where dinosaurs roam.

Serial Cleaners originally launched in September 2022 and is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Here’s the big announcement from the 505 Games Twitter feed:

This DLC was first teased in a blog post last week with the quote “do you think it saw us?”, which seemed to be a reference to the pun in Jurassic Park.

It’s a highly unusual addition, to be sure. Despite the core game’s gorgeous visuals, it’s also set in such a seedy, moody world full of murder. Serial Cleaners isn’t necessarily serious, with some playful mechanics and ideas. But this is a very different kind of pulp, and it remains to be seen how the fanbase will respond.

However, it may also invite a lot of newcomers who may not have realized the tone Serial Cleaners was going for. Also, Serial Cleaners dedicated itself to the 90’s era, and Jurassic Park was a massive hit that played an undeniably large role in that decade. It also featured a degree of corporate crime and that may be the hook for the new DLC.

Of course, Dino Crisis also released in 1999. There are a host of potential influences for Dino Park, and there will surely be easter eggs. Hopefully, fans will get the chance to see a gameplay trailer soon, because it’s still unclear just how outlandish the DLC is willing to be.
