Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, an action RPG from indie developer Frozenbyte and publisher THQ Nordic, has released a new hero spotlight featuring Zoya the Thief. The trailer showcases Zoya’s variety of tools and maneuvers, including her trusty rope, specialized arrows, dodges and more.
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy was first announced in April and is slated to launch later this month on August 31st, 2023. It will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch today’s new trailer on the THQ Nordic YouTube channel:
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy looks just as delightful as previous installments, but Zoya the Thief is definitely going to be a standout. Not only is their kit remarkably practical, but it also gets fairly creative.
Zoya’s unique abilities will surely encourage players to get just as clever as the character, which is very thematic. Notably, Zoya is considerably well-rounded, since her rope and arrows are repurposed in so many ways. There’s an even distribution of platforming, defensive, and offensive skills.
According to a new Steam blog posted today, she “can create bridges by using her rope” to help out in co-op. Players who enjoy being at the forefront of solving puzzles for their team should be pleased.
The performance behind the character is also a delight, which a mischievous glint of genuine humor that avoids anything remotely corny.
The previous hero spotlight trailer, which focused on Pontius the Knight, was probably overdoing it. That character feels more like a cartoon than the self-serious Paladin in Honor Among Thieves, and they also happen to seem a little less flexible. Although, their attack-based kit is likely going to please fans of a faster playstyle.
There isn’t a whole lot of time left before release, but there were only two weeks between the recent hero spotlights. So, fans might be able to expect at least one more trailer before launch.
