Warstride Challenges, a bloody time trial shooter with a level editor from developer Dream Powered Games and publisher Focus Entertainment, will officially exit Early Access on September 7th, 2023. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Warstride Challenges first released into Early Access last year, and that version is available now on PC via Steam. You can watch today’s new release date trailer on the Focus Entertainment YouTube channel, which also features a gameplay overview:

Today’s trailer really concentrates on how accessible Warstride Challenges hopes to be. The narration promptly appealing to FPS fans who aren’t downright experts just yet. There’s a glimpse of various assistance settings for aim, increased slow motion, no reloads and more.

However, Warstride Challenges also makes it clear that the game will be intense, requiring players to carefully learn each map thoroughly in order to shave off precious seconds.

One of the biggest highlights of the game is undoubtedly its level editor, which the official Steam page explains will receive “huge updates, with many more options available for players to create and customize their own levels”.

Unfortunately, today’s trailer notes that level creation is only available on Steam, and it’s unclear if there are plans to add it to console platforms later on.

The level editor looks surprisingly sophisticated, both friendly enough for newcomers to build something simple, and pliable enough for longtime creatives to construct some elaborate trials. Naturally, it’s also going to give the game tremendous replay value, and it’ll help players practice at the difficulty they need.

Today’s trailer also teases real time multiplayer, a game mode that will be new for the full launch, alongside new powers and abilities. Warstride Challenges‘ purity harkens back to classics of the genre, which has recently been leaning towards twists like rhythm mechanics. But it looks very polished, fast-paced, and full of quality-of-life features.
