The much-awaited Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is set to launch on April 21, 2023, and pre-orders are already available on the Nintendo eShop. This all-new spin on the beloved strategy series brings together two classic campaigns from Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, fully remade from the ground up.
The Orange Star trailer gives players a chance to meet the Commanding Officers of the game, including Andy, Max, and Sami. Each officer comes with their unique strengths and weaknesses, such as Andy’s ability to repair units and Sami’s capacity to capture properties at an increased speed.
In Advance Wars, players will be immersed in the story of the Orange Star Nation, which is under attack by the neighboring Blue Moon. Players must navigate through the four countries of Cosmo Land: Orange Star, Blue Moon, Green Earth, and Gold Comet to succeed. Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising sees players working together to battle a mysterious force threatening Cosmo Land.
The game features turn-based battles, where players must strategically move land, air, and naval units across the battlefield, capturing cities and bases to secure victory. Players must also consider different types of terrain and weather while building and commanding their units.
Commanding Officers have unique special abilities called CO Powers that can turn the tide of battle. However, players must be wary of the enemy’s CO Powers as well. In addition to the campaign stories, the game offers several modes for players to test their strategy skills:
- Versus Mode: Up to four players can battle on dozens of maps, choosing a CO from either campaign and using their CO Powers strategically.
- Online Mode: Challenge friends online to a 1v1 battle to prove your strategic prowess.
- War Room: Battle the CPU and aim for the top ranking.
- Design Room: Create and share custom maps.
- Hachi’s Shop: Unlock additional CO’s and Maps for use in Versus Mode, as well as music and artwork.
