SnowRunner, the extreme environment driving sim from developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment will officially arrive on Mac sometime this year. Saber Interactive released a new gameplay trailer to coincide with the big announcement.
While a concrete release date hasn’t been confirmed, SnowRunner will be available on the Mac App Store, Mac via Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The new release will cost $29.99, and existing DLC or Premium Edition passes will still have to be purchased separately.
SnowRunner is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch today’s new trailer on the Saber Interactive YouTube channel:
Although SnowRunner originally launched in 2020, the expansive roster of vehicles and exotic off-road environments have continued to retain interest over the years. It also thrives on community mods, which boast some real standouts.
The game absolutely makes the most of a simple gameplay loop, capturing a real spirit of adventure by drawing up the most dangerous trucking hauls imaginable. The graphics and physics are both solid, allowing players to really get immersed. The loop is unusually extensive and unforgiving though, so SnowRunner may not be for everyone.
SnowRunner is already available on all major platforms, so joining Mac isn’t actually the highlight of today’s trailer. In fact, it’s the trailer description, which notes all of the improvements fans can expect for quality of life.
SnowRunner is an older game, so upscaling is certainly welcome, but full crossplay with consoles is surely the most anticipated feature. Fans have generally agreed that playing with friends can be really entertaining in SnowRunner, which offers 4-player coop.
