Airportle FAQ

What are the rules of Airportle?

Here are the official rules description from the game:

Guess the airport IATA code in 6 tries. After each guess, the color of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the IATA code.

Each guess must be a valid IATA code.

Where can I play Airportle?

Airportle can be played on the official Airportle website.

Can I play old Airportles?

No, you cannot play past Airportles at this time.

Airportle Tips

Like Wordle, choosing IATA codes that have unique letters is ideal. Whether that includes different vowels and consonants is not quite as important with Airportle as it would be for Wordle.

We have found that is often useful to figure out where a letter is in the IATA code, even if all you know is one, because there are a fair number of IATA codes that exist but they don’t necessarily make up memorable words (like five-letter English words might).
