As we get closer to the release of Alan Wake 2 next month, Remedy Entertainment is sharing more information about the sequel over a decade in the making. In a new 11-minute gameplay trailer, players can see a special focus on FBI agent Saga Anderson’s investigation into the murders at Bright Falls as well as some intense combat against the Taken.

In the trailer, players can see Anderson explore the town at dusk, walking through a dim building with residents acting strange before talking to two brothers. During the conversation, she seems to go to a place in her mind where she is able to review details before proceeding with the conversation. Other parts show her discovering and connecting clues in detailed environments.

Much of the trailer is dedicated to the more action-focused parts of the game, with Anderson facing off a range of different Taken enemies that are vaguely reminiscent of the first Alan Wake. However, these enemies are much more detailed and hidden in fewer shadows, so players will get a good look at their twisted faces following the transformation.

There’s also a portion where she wanders through a fair and has to face off against clowns while whimsical music plays in the background. The game shows her shooting away at a breakable teapot to get at a hiding enemy, showing the advancements in the tech that Alan Wake has benefited from in the last decade.
