There are a lot of simulation games out there and the Truck Simulator games are no small part of that, fostering longtime communities and internet radio stations that run to this day. However, it seems they may soon face some competition with the extended gameplay trailer of Alaskan Road Truckers revealing just how comprehensive its trucker aspects are.
In the trailer, players can see typical trucking simulator gameplay showing the average hard work of America’s backbone. The player character can be seen experiencing life on the road as a trucker, making sure to take care of their needs in the cab and at various pit stops along the way. Players will also be able to build a business for their trucks, including improving their capabilities
One of the more detailed parts of the trailer shows the player character messing with the internal parts of his truck’s engine. Then a screen that seems to show a truck-building feature similar to Car Mechanic Simulator, which allows players to build and customize nearly every piece of their car and perform actual maintenance before traveling in it again.
There are also many scenes showing the trucker driving through some of the harsh weather that Alaskans have to put up with year-round. While there’s a lot of beautiful scenery, it looks like players will have to worry about dangerous driving conditions.
Based on this trailer, it seems like Alaskan Road Truckers is trying to combine the best part of a bunch of different simulator titles, but we’ll have to see if it can stick the landing when it releases on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 this fall.
