The trucking sim is a relaxing genre that allows players to relax into the life of the open road, with Alaskan Road Truckers looking to give one state a spotlight. This new title is ramping up for a release sometime this year, with a new trailer and hands-on gameplay opportunities being announced earlier today.

In the new gameplay trailer, players can get a look at what it will be like to live a life on the road in Alaskan Road Truckers. You can hear a radio announcer state that there is expected to be a lot of cold weather, so those driving the roads should be prepared for it. When the player gets caught in the cold, they have to use their own resourcefulness to get their truck free.

In a press release sent out alongside the new trailer, Alaskan Road Truckers also announced that it will be attending Gamescom with a playable demo from August 23 to 27 at the Koelnmesse Congress Center in Cosumer Hall 06.1. Fans who are attending the show can try out the title for themselves for the first time since it was announced.

There’s currently no release date for Alaskan Road Truckers outside of sometime this year, but the hands-on demo is a promising step toward that release. With titles like American Truck Simulator holding much of the market, there is room for Alaskan Road Truckers to introduce something new and interesting to the genre.
