How to Get & Use Spirit Orbs in Anime Defenders and What They Do

There are currently four main ways of getting Spirit Orbs in Anime Defenders:

  • Portals
  • Tower of Eternity
  • Battle Pass
  • Purchase them with Robux

It may be possible to get Spirit Orbs via Anime Defenders codes in the future, but it’s doubtful, as Spirit Orbs is a new type of premium currency.

How to Get Spirit Orbs in Anime Defenders

Spirits Orb via Portals

Portals were introduced in update 4 of Anime Defenders. Upon completion, these portals with unique modifiers/or randomized challenges can yield Spirit Orbs. The difficulty and rarity of the portal influence the rewards you receive. If you’re after the Secret Portals, then we have a guide for you: How to Get All Secret Portals in Anime Defenders?

Spirit Orbs via Tower of Eternity

In Tower of Eternity, you can obtain Wishes that can be used to summon exclusive units from the Exclusive Wish fountain. With the recent update (version 4), players also have the option to receive Spirit Orbs by successfully completing or surviving the 20-minute duration of ToE.

Spirit Orbs via Battle Pass

In update 4, Anime Defenders introduced a new Battle Pass along with Portals. Both free-to-play (F2P) and premium users can earn extra rewards by leveling it up. At certain levels, you’ll receive Spirit Orbs as awards:

    • 3x Spirit Orbs for F2P
    • 6x Spirit Orbs for Premium
  • Level 19
    • 5x Spirit Orbs for F2P

Spirit Orbs via Robux

If you don’t want to grind and have Robux to spare, then this is the fastest and easiest way to acquire Spirit Orbs, but they are expensive:

  • +12 Spirit Orbs for 799 Robux
  • +150 Spirit Orbs for 4,999

How to Use Spirit Orbs in Anime Defenders

To use Spirit Orbs in Anime Defenders, you should head to the Summon building and look to the left of the Summon interface. There, you will find the word “Spirits.” Simply interact with the Spirits to open the Spirit Summoning window.

To attach a Spirit to a unit, click the “?” and then press “Summon A Spirit.” This will randomly select a Spirit for you. If you don’t like the Spirit you got, you can press “Summon a Spirit” again to get a different one, but it will use up another Spirit Orb. If you want to remove the Spirit entirely so you can trade it, press the “Remove a Spirit” button.

What Do Spirit Orbs Do in Anime Defenders?

Spirit Orbs are used to attach a unit with a spirit, which provides a unique buff or passive ability that can significantly boost the unit. Once a Spirit has been attached to a unit, that unit is considered to be Spirited and cannot be traded until the Spirit has been removed.

These Spirits are great for selected units and bad for others. We have a guide on what all these Spirits do and what are the best Spirits to go for; check these out below:
