Although about thirty seconds of footage were revealed over the weekend during ALGS, it pales in comparison to the massive new trailer that dropped today, which plays out as a promo funded by the Syndicate.

About two minutes before the launch, audiences were treated to some interesting dialogue from an in-game news caster called “Frosty Frog”.

The character dished out some criticism towards Eduardo Silva, complaining that the Syndicate needs better leadership if a giant lobster can freely attack the shores. Frosty Frog also suggested it might be their final broadcast, implying that speaking so openly could be dangerous.

The trailer itself begins with a jaw-dropping reveal for Storm Point’s map changes, which will be more substantial than most anticipated.

It seems that the entire corpse of the “Downed Beast” is going to lay across all of North Pad, basically transforming the area into a fleshy Skull Town.

North Pad was mainly composed of a series of trenches and open land until now. The so-called kraken creates enormous cover and more incentive to land here.

Next, we get some gameplay footage of Newcastle’s abilities at work. The radius of his shield has been revealed, and it can officially block Maggie’s wrecking ball.

Then, the trailer explains that new IMC Armories will appear on Storm Point. They will function similarly to explosive holds on Kings Canyon, offering rich rewards in a contained room.

However, players will have to overcome AI enemies, as the loot will be guarded by Spectres from Titanfall. Fortunately, it seems there will be launch pads from the Control LTM to help players boost into the air and quickly rotate away.

The trailer continues with some skin reveals, focusing mainly on Fuse and Newcastle. The outfits revolve around armor, which look clunky, but at least they’re full of more personality than some previous seasons.

Finally, the trailer concludes by teasing the reworked ranked system, although no further details are given. You can catch more breaking news and updates for the game in our Apex Legends section!
