The team at Gryphline, a publishing branch of Hypergryph, has expressed interest in releasing Arknights: Endfield on the Xbox platform. This would be a big change since the original Arknights released on mobile devices only.

In an exclusive email interview with Exputer, the developers shed light on the evolution of Arknights: Endfield and its notable differences from the early concepts. One of the prominent changes Gryphline highlighted is the core combat gameplay and default camera angles. These adjustments aimed to provide players with a closer and more immersive experience. This necessitated a substantial enhancement in the quality of art assets.

Addressing the potential release of Arknights: Endfield on the Xbox platform, Gryphline expressed their hope for the game to be available to users across the leading gaming platforms. They emphasized the desire to leverage the strengths of consoles, PCs, and mobile devices, underlining their commitment to ensuring wide accessibility of the game across different platforms.

“We definitely want to leverage the respective advantages of consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. This is why we’re trying to cover as many platforms as possible. Of course, this would entail quite a bit of work for our development team and we must be fully prepared to meet this challenge.”

Gryphline also revealed its approach to gameplay design. It integrated essential elements of RPGs with construction and management sims. Players are afforded a high degree of freedom to establish factory facilities, manage power transmission, and automate production lines. Notably, the team emphasized the game’s accessibility to new players, suggesting familiarity with the original Arknights is not a prerequisite for enjoying Endfield.

Moreover, the storyline of Endfield is set in a different world, offering new graphics and gameplay systems while maintaining a stylistic connection to Arknights. The developers assured that the game’s universe is a continuation of the grand world established in Arknights, promising elements that would resonate with fans of the original title.

The developers continue optimizing and adjusting the game’s content following the recently concluded technical test. So we should see more developments as we get closer to the release of Arknights: Endfield.
