Publisher Akupara Games has officially announced that the dice-deck-building roguelike game, Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles, will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Little Leo Games, Astrea brings a fresh twist on deck builders by using dice instead of cards and introducing a unique dual damage system. Previously, the game was initially announced to launch soon on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Astrea follows the journey of the descendants of the Six-Sided Oracles, loyal disciples of a mystical star that governed all. A tragic event, called The Crimson Dawn Cataclysm, took place long ago, engulfing the entirety of the star system, and the disciples of the star were lost to the chaos. Eons later, descendants of the Six-Sided Oracles step forward to carry on their predecessors’ unfinished battle and to save the star system.
As players embark on a journey as descendants of the Six-Sided Oracles, they must build a dice pool strong enough to purify Astrea‘s out-of-control corruption and save the Star System. The game introduces a dual damage system, called Purification and Corruption. Players may use Purification to damage enemies or heal themselves, while Corruption allows them to damage themselves or heal the enemies.
Astrea also features a dynamic Health Bar system, in which various skills are attached to the player’s health bar. Activation of these skills requires Corruption, adding another layer of complexity to the gameplay. However, players must be careful and strategic when using Corruption as its excessive use can lead to their own downfall.
The game boasts over 350 dice, divided into three distinct types—reliably sage, perfectly balanced, and powerfully risky. This extensive variety allows players to experiment and tailor their dice pool according to their individual playstyles, ensuring an exciting and personalized gaming experience.
