Arc System Works has confirmed the inclusion of Asuka R# as the newest addition to the lineup of playable characters in the second season pass for Guilty Gear: Strive. The release is slated for May 25 and will feature the new battle stage “Tir na nOg” and two color packs in celebration of Guilty Gear’s 25th anniversary. The company also revealed plans for a third season pass.
Asuka R# joins the roster as a highly technical character, masterfully manipulating 26 distinct types of spells suitable for a range of combat situations. Standing out even amongst other magic-wielding characters, Asuka R# embodies the perfect blend of a scientist and a magician. His outstanding command of magic has earned him the title of a genius.
Despite his highly skilled and intellectual persona, Asuka R# reveals a humble and polite demeanor. He often experiences his well-thought-out remarks resulting in discord. Contrary to his intellectual prowess, he falls short in physical stamina, quickly tiring from slight exertion. He relies on his custom-made bits to handle physically demanding tasks.
Continuing to emit “clear numbers” from space, Asuka R# aims to usher in peace to Earth.
The upcoming addition also brings the battle stage “Tir na nOg.” This space colony, previously abandoned and dilapidated, has been refurbished for human survival in outer space. The stage is adorned with an array of items, ranging from a massive telescope to a Japanese-style garden, reflecting the current resident’s tastes.
The update will include two additional color packs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Guilty Gear: the Guilty Gear 25th Anniversary Appreciation Color and the Guilty Gear 25th Anniversary Colors. Both packs provide new colors for each of the currently released characters. The Appreciation Color pack is available for free download and can be accessed starting May 25, 2023.
The Guilty Gear 25th Anniversary Appreciation Color pack offers one extra color for a total of 24 characters, covering the initial roster of 15 characters and the nine additional characters from Season Pass 1 and 2. On the other hand, the Guilty Gear 25th Anniversary Colors pack provides two extra colors for a total of 24 characters, including the 15 characters from the initial roster and the nine characters added through Season Pass 1 and 2, amounting to a total of 48 colors.
Guilty Gear: Strive is currently available for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
