Today, HoYoverse revealed “Tsubaki in Thawing Snow”. a new Genshin Impact animated short, this time focused on Kamisato Ayaka, her determination, as well as the bonds between her and her family.
The new animated short also featured the first appearance of Ayaka and Ayato’s mother, Kamisato Kayo, who, according to lore, passed away shortly after the death of their father, falling victim to an illness. The trailer not only showcases more of the lore behind the Kamisato family but also works as the perfect warm-up for the Kamisato Ayaka rerun banner, set to debut on April 19, 2022, as part of Genshin Impact’s version 2.6 second phase of banners. This will be Ayaka’s first rerun since her debut on Genshin Impact’s version 2.0 ”The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia”, on July 21st, 2021.
Together with Ayaka’s rerun, a new weapon wish banner will also debut, featuring both the Mistsplitter Reforged sword and The Uforged claymore as its featured 5-stars weapons. Both banners are set to run until May 10, 2022. Ahead of the presumed release date of the game’s version 2.7 on May 11, 2022.
With that said, Genshin Impact’s version 2.7 is set to not only feature the debut of 5-star Hydro Archer Yelan and 4-star Electro Sword user Kuki Shinobu but also that of a new event, set to feature Xiao, Itto, and Yanfei, among many other characters.
