Update

Baldur’s Gate 3 has tripled, and then some of its all-time peak player count, according to Steamdb. It now has almost 350k people playing BG3 currently. Baldur’s Gate 3 has overtaken Apex Legends and PUBG. But the real question is now, will it surpass Dota 2, who’s now sitting at 572k? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Well, gamers, we’ve barely had time to digest the fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally out, and guess what? It’s already shattered its all-time player peak! Just over an hour after its launch, the game recorded a player count that leaves its previous record of 73,980 players three years ago in the dust, according to Steam.db. Now, it’s so close to the 100,000 mark, and I wouldn’t be surprised if, by the time you’re reading this or I hit F5, it’ll have comfortably surpassed that milestone. The momentum shows no signs of stopping, and why should it? BG3 is a role-playing game gem we’ve all been eagerly awaiting.

Now, I see you furrowing your brows and pondering, “Isn’t Steam having issues?” Yes, you’re right. There have been hiccups with Steam’s servers and download speed due to the sheer volume of players trying to download the game. But despite these minor roadblocks, BG3 is soaring high, reaching new heights, proving the magic of this D&D-inspired title and the skill of the team at Larian Studios.

With its deep and engaging gameplay, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the kind of adventure that keeps you glued to your screen, forgetting about the world outside. Trust me, I’ve lost hours exploring its vast landscapes and immersing myself in its rich storyline. So, it’s no surprise to me that the player peak has reached such heights. It’s the kind of game that you can’t help but dive into, forgetting all about mundane things like eating and sleeping.
