Baldur’s Gate 3 players have been complaining about the kissing animations in the game since it was first released in Early Access. The animations were often awkward and looked like the characters were not actually kissing each other. However, it looks like Patch 5 will put these complaints for Astarion to rest.

Larian Studios has finally addressed kissing complaints with Astarian in Patch 5, which will be released this week. Based on the example shown in their tweet, the patch makes great changes to the kissing animation.

As you can see, the characters will now move their heads and bodies more realistically when kissing. The characters no longer clip into each other and the kisses will now look more natural and believable. There are plenty of people in their Twitter comments happy about the change.

Unfortunately, there are many more who are unhappy because this is just a fix for a single character. There is no mention in the tweet that this is the only thing that’s being fixed, in fact, it mentions that it is just one part of the patch. For those who don’t know, that means other things have been fixed too and the studio just wanted to highlight this part.

They explain in a follow-up Tweet:

“There’s a lot coming with Patch 5. While it’s cooking, we’re preparing a community update that talks about some new features coming to Baldur’s Gate 3.”

Patch 5 will be on the third disc on Xbox as well. So everyone who bought the game at retail for the Deluxe Edition will be able to enjoy every fix up until now. Future patches will likely need to be installed over the internet.
