Hello adventurers! Excited about diving headlong into the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 but also curious about the final level cap? Navigating the thrilling world of BG3 with your character can be a rollercoaster ride, and knowing just how far you can level up helps plan your journey better. So, let’s put on our adventure caps and unravel the mystery of the Baldur’s Gate 3 level cap in the game’s full release. Stay with us as we explore this all-important aspect of BG3 gameplay.

What is the Maximum Level in Baldur’s Gate 3 Full Release?

Baldur’s Gate 3 level cap is set at Level 12. Yes, you heard it right! The developer team initially planned for a cap at Level 10, but a second thought had them realizing that this decision would leave a plethora of exciting high-level spells unattainable. And they definitely didn’t want that for us players. Hence, the adjustment to the cap, raising it to Level 12.

But hey, don’t let this limit your enthusiasm. Considering the fluid nature of game development, this level cap could see further adjustments down the line, especially with potential additional DLCs coming our way. If we look into our crystal ball, a future with a level cap at Level 20, mirroring the maximum level in the quintessential Dungeons & Dragons, doesn’t seem farfetched.

What was the Baldurs Gate 3 Level Cap in Early Access?

BG3’s original level cap was just 4 – seems a bit cute now, in retrospect. Though we all learned the ropes and prepared ourselves for the bigger battles to come in Early Access. And then, in came Patch 9 in December 2022, bumping up the cap to level 5.

Looking back, it’s clear to see how far Larian Studios has come. The increase to a level cap of 12 in the full release is a testament to the game’s development and our journey as players.
