This year has been incredible in the number of major releases that have come this year and developers have clearly taken notice. The latest game to be delayed until 2024 was announced to be Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, with the developers admitting that the delay comes because Don’t Nod wants its game to have its own spotlight on Feb. 13, 2024.

The developer made the announcement on Twitter and through a press release on the company’s website. Don’t Nod clearly state that it is delaying the game so that it has a chance to shine on its own in the somewhat clearer first quarter of next year. It states that the game is ready to ship, the team behind it just prefers if it has its own time.

There have been other delays in the latter part of this year, with many developers commenting on the level of games that have come out this year. Some even believe that some titles have caused critics to judge others more harshly, but this has just been speculation.

The more tangible cost is how much purchasing each new game is, which has begun to be a complaint of many gamers across social media. With three more months of monumental releases, it makes sense that Don’t Nod thinks it might have a better chance of capturing the spotlight at the start of next year.
