BattleBit Remastered, the low-poly massive multiplayer FPS capable of hosting 254 players per server on near-fully destructible maps with assorted vehicles, has released its 1.7.2 patch. This update is primarily centered around backend improvements and crucial bug fixes.

During the past week, the developers primarily focused on backend optimization and corrections. The need for this was observed after the backend started to slow down in the second week, leading to random issues. These issues were viewed as an impending crisis, requiring immediate action.

The patch notes for this update highlight heavy backend optimizations as one of the most significant changes. This alteration was deemed necessary to address and prevent potential problems before they escalated. Alongside backend optimizations, further CPU and client-side performance optimizations have also been executed, likely improving game performance overall.

The update also potentially addresses the recurrent game lag experienced every five seconds. Similarly, a bug that disrupted the entire user interface when a player joined a game at the ending stage with a rally point deployed in their team has been fixed.

Adjustments to weaponry and map dynamics were made. Fixes have been applied to the scaling of the PP2000 attachment, and the Rsh12 magazine model. The MP7 magazines have been reintroduced, further diversifying the weaponry options. On the Wakistan map, the order of flag naming for the CONQ 64v64 mode has been adjusted. For the SandySunset map, the initial spawn of the USA team in the Frontline mode has been pushed back by 50 meters. This change is expected to balance the travel time to the targeted objective for both teams. The Frugis map now includes a Rush 32v32 mode, featuring three steps with five objectives per step and two random active objectives.

One of the new features introduced is a display showing the number of seats used in a vehicle, visible only if the vehicle is occupied.

The update also offers several enhancements to the user interface and networking features. For instance, the limit for Twitch drops has been fixed to 20 skins. Additionally, when a player’s data is not updated from the game server to the backend, the synchronization process for user stats has been significantly expedited, reducing the time from 10-15 seconds to just 2 seconds. This change is expected to be noticeable when the player attempts to join a new server. The issue of friends not loading in the party tab has also been addressed, along with a fix for the Steam friend list causing lag every five seconds.
