Bend Studio, one of Sony Entertainment’s partner studios and developer behind games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Days Gone may be teasing an announcement related to an older title it worked on. Bend is potentially teasing some news about the release of a new Syphon Filter announcement later today.

Bend Studio is located in and named after its home of Bend, Oregon, where it’s 4 p.m., with enough time left in the day for an announcement. The developer teased this information in a tweet roughly an hour ago, stating that there is scheduled maintenance planned today, so “Players must Syphon their Filter.” It then goes on to say that this is made up and players will experience no actual issues.

The Syphon Filter series centers around agent Gabe Logan as a stealth shooter as he works to take down international terrorists. It’s clear to see the inspirations for Bend’s later work like Uncharted, with the developer putting an emphasis on puzzle solving in addition to the standard shooter gameplay of the time.

When the first Syphon Filter title was released, it was generally well-received among fans and critics for its evolution in the genre. Those fans from back then are likely to be happy if this news from Bend turns out to be a new game announcement or other information.
