Building The Exodia Deck

Exodia’s playstyle is simple; If you have the card Exodia The Forbidden One and all of his additional body part cards in your hand, you win the duel. Because of this, the Exodia deck has one goal; Draw, draw, draw your cards until you have the entire Forbidden One built in your hand.

This deck makes use of powerful card-drawing mechanics and life point protection spells to keep you in the game until Exodia is in your hand. If you play it right, you can potentially win with this deck on turn one.

Playing The Exodia Deck

The OTK Exodia deck is surprisingly simple to play. One of the strongest cards in this decklist is Royal Magical Library; each time you cast a spell on this monster, you place a spell counter on this card. After three spell counters are on this card, you can trade them in to draw a card. This is an incredibly powerful effect when paired with this deck’s huge amount of card drawing spells.

Use Broken Bamboo Sword and Cursed Bamboo Sword to continuously play your Golden Bamboo Sword spell card, which allows you to draw 2 cards as long as you have a Bamboo Sword equipped to your cards. This will give you easy draw power and allow you to keep stacking spell counters on your Royal Magical Library.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon and The White Stone of Legend exist to easily summon monsters for your Bamboo Sword spells. Blue-Eyes can also be used to activate the Trade-In spell, which allows you to discard 1 level-8 monster to draw 2 cards.

To keep you safe from your opponent’s attacks and stack more counters on Magical Library, use the Chicken Game field spell. This card makes it so the lowest health player can’t take any LP damage. With Upstart Goblin, you’ll always have less life points than your opponent, so you won’t take any damage Once per turn with Chicken Game, you can spend 1000 life points to draw a card, keeping you invulnerable to LP damage and drawing more cards. This is an insanely powerful addition to your Exodia deck.

Linkuriboh is included as an added defense in case you don’t get the perfect draw on turn one. The power in this deck lies in its speed. Many of these spells can’t be interrupted by the opponent’s spells and most of the deck can be played in a single main phase.
