Best Toon Deck In Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel

Maximillion Pegasus’ iconic Toon deck has been a source of fan fascination since it first appeared in the anime. While not the strongest deck in the game, Toon decks can still be somewhat viable when built correctly. In this guide, we’ll show you how to build and play a modern Toon deck in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel.

Building a Toon Deck in Master Duel

Toon decks consist of cartoonish versions of iconic Yu-Gi-Oh monsters. This deck is heavily reliant on field cards, which buff your keyword-sharing monsters (toon) into becoming hard-to-remove beasts. Each of your Toon monsters contains an effect as well, so you don’t have any purely stat-stick monsters on board.

This deck relies on Toon Kingdom more than anything. Toon Kingdom protects all Toon Monsters from destruction by battle or card effect so long as you banish 1 card from the top of your deck facedown. This means that once you’ve got your best monsters on the field, you can keep them there without having to worry about the tossed cards.

Playing The Toon Deck

Toon Black Luster Soldier is your best card in the deck. Toon BLS can be special summoned from the hand by sending cards to the grave from the hand or field whose level is 8 or more, meaning that you can feasibly play this card on turn one. Toon BLS has 3000 ATK and can attack your enemy directly, meaning you can do massive damage to your enemy’s life points potentially right out the gate.

Not only does Toon BLS have a strong offensive power, but you can also banish one of your opponent’s monsters each turn. This means you have massive board control, especially with Toon Kingdom protecting your cards from removal.

Get Toon BLS and Toon Kingdom on the board as fast as you possibly can, using Terraforming to search for Kingdom if you don’t have it in your hand. Remember that your toon monsters can’t use most of their effects without Toon World in play, and Toon Kingdom counts as toon world.

Use Toon Table of Contents and Toon Page-Flip to dominate your opponent with powerful searchability. This deck has so many “draw from deck” or “summon from deck” cards that you basically counteract the entire card draw RNG that exists in every card game.
