Today, the first season of Blood Bowl 3 kicks off. The game, available on platforms such as PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, debuts the official Ladder, Blood Pass, and a progression system with this season’s inception.
The Ladder system, introduced in the first season, allows players to engage in competitive gaming. The Blood Pass is another feature rolled out with the first season, along with a progression system. Players can now level up and earn rewards through experience gained. To acknowledge the game’s dedicated community, the Season 1 Blood Pass, which provides access to the Lizardmen faction, is available to unlock at no cost.
Season 1 also sees the release of a significant feature previously slated for Season 2: a limited-time reconnection option for players who have been disconnected. This update is the result of community requests.
The newly added Lizardmen faction presents a unique combination of strength and speed, offering teams of robust yet swift players. While their passing game may not be their strong suit, the Lizardmen grow more formidable with each match, presenting a clever choice for seasoned coaches.
The visual quality of Blood Bowl 3 has also seen improvements. Various clipping issues have been fixed, along with refining animations and resolving issues with certain player outfits and skills. Other visual enhancements include adjustments to the alignment of Disturbing Presence with the pitch and rectification of visual effects.
Several menu issues have been addressed. Fixes include resolving missing competition tab icons, error messages during checkout operations, and viewing password buttons in competitions and leagues. Issues regarding navigation, league parameters, and the tutorial have also been corrected.
There are also improvements in the match gameplay. Several softlocks and crashes related to skills and sequences have been resolved. An icon for hidden skills has been added for better visibility during a match. A myriad of other issues related to various skills and actions during a match has also been fixed.
Changes have also been made in the sound department with modifications to the blitz sound and a new option for crowd volume added.
In addition to these enhancements, Blood Bowl 3 Season 1 also includes various fixes and improvements in other areas, including better AI, improved compatibility with ultra-wide screens and different resolutions, and multiple localization fixes. The game also addressed several issues related to the menu texts, competition menu, official ladder, player customization, and manager menu.
This season has made multiple adjustments to the user interface for a more immersive gaming experience, such as the improvement of sheared textures in the active team widget, the increase in the XP bar progress animation speed, and the improvement of the official ladder description text.
