Blood Bowl 3 is an upcoming fantasy sports video game developed by Cyanide Studios and published by Nacon. It is a sequel to the 2015 video game Blood Bowl 2 and is based on the Games Workshop board game Blood Bowl. The game is set for release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on February 23, 2023, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow later in 2023.
Recently, Nacon announced that Blood Bowl 3 would, for the first time in the series, have a new season system to support the game for many years. This system will allow for more competitive play, in addition to offering new content in the form of a battle pass. Take a look at the Blood Bowl 3 | New Season System video, courtesy of Nacon’s official Youtube channel:
Blood Bowl 3 will be the most ambitious installment in the series. A dedicated team will continue to enhance the game’s stability and address any technical issues that may arise after its release. This team will also develop new content, introduce new factions, cosmetic items, and features, and maintain the game’s competitive aspect. The production team is also ready to delay the game’s release in order to satisfy their quality standards, which will continue to steer their vision beyond the game’s release.
In Blood Bowl 3, there will be a new season every three months, accompanied by a major update that will include a broad range of content and features, as well as adding a new faction to join the 12 currently present at launch, and a new Blood Pass with 50 reward tiers that boost as players play more matches. At some tiers, players will have access to free rewards. Alternatively, players may purchase the Blood Pass to immediately acquire the new faction and have access to several more gifts that can be unlocked each year.
Additionally, Blood Bowl 3 will emphasize customization. Warp Stone is the game’s virtual money. Players may gain new items through completing accomplishments, advancing to higher levels, and spending Warp Stone. Each season will also have a competitive element with an official ladder. At launch, this ladder will be version 1.0, and in subsequent seasons, a more comprehensive system will be developed.
Nacon is excited to deliver such an enormous amount of Blood Bowl 3 content. Next year, additional information regarding season 1 will be revealed.
