    I managed to arrive at the correct answer on my own by process of elimination of the correct solutions for the other clues in today’s puzzle, but I have absolutely no idea how the word “necklines” pertains to “boat and crew”. If anyone can explain this to me, I would be very appreciative.

      So from what I can gather, it’s a clever play on words! Think of fashion instead of sailing. ‘Boat’ and ‘Crew’ refer to boatneck and crewneck, both of which are types of necklines on shirts and sweaters. I wouldn’t have had any idea until I looked into it more.
